Thebes is a neurodivergent, asexual virgin enduring life until he meets Wilhelmina ‘Billy’ who makes him yearn for companionship (and realize that he might actually be demisexual). They navigate their attraction while upholding their roles as “outstanding negroes” in a workplace that could rival The Office in comedic gold. I couldn’t do it justice by trying to describe their banter and the way their personalities complement each other, but their love story is so cute. Pros: Thebes’ sexual awakening. Billy’s princess treatment. Their fierce protectiveness of each other. Cons: The side storylines felt incomplete. Miscommunication trope. The word count is probably equivalent to a book twice as long.
