438 Days: An Extraordinary True Story of Survival at Sea by Jonathan Franklin
5.0
On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, 438 Days by Jonathan Franklin is a fish taco. It seems only right to choose something wrapped in a tortilla, but more than that, to pay honor to fish.
Survival books will always be interesting because the readers want to know about what makes a man beat the odds. 438 Days just goes to show the power of belief on top of smarts...critical for sea survival but also flourish in this life.
Jonathan Franklin captured the plodding rhythm of day to day struggle along with sharing information the uneducated reader (me) wouldn't know about sea life.
If you've read Unbroken, then I think 438 Days would intrigue you.
