Well this book popped my Kresley Cole cherry; I truly wonder why I have never read it before considering I am a huge vampire freak.

This book isn’t your typical vampire book. And Emmaline isn’t your typical vampire she is so much more.
The sunlight check, fangs and blood all check. But what I like was she can’t lie without feeling unbearable pain. But she is more than just vampire. I loved the twist. Her aunts are something else. Nix is probably my favorite character of the whole book. I don’t really have a reason why but maybe because she is the “see’er” and talks in riddles. She makes me smile more than any other character in the book.

Lachlain leader of the Lykae Clan (werewolf) has been looking for a mate for 900 years. And when he finally scents her, he happened to be nailed to a rock under the city of Pairs for the last 150 years being tortured. I can’t believe he was as patient, me might have been all growly but in the end he totally was all about Emma. <3

It’s an incredible story that was a little slow in the beginning but really packs a punch in the end. I really enjoyed it.

I know some people will think the sexy scenes in the beginning of the book were boarder line to much. But I thought of it as a whole, he might have been forceful but he never took it to the end. And I thought ok he finally found his mate after searching and waiting for 900 yrs. And the last 150 he was being tortured. But if it wasn’t for her, he would still be down there.

And she never “really” put a stop to it except for that one morning. And then he realized what he was doing. So I say to people who think like that look at the story as a whole, and also realize its fiction. ;) He never hurt her.
