“Somewhere in Wendlyn, his friend was changing the world. She was fulfilling the promise she’d made him. She had not forgotten him, or any of them still here. And perhaps when they figured out a way to destroy that tower and free magic from his father’s yoke, she would know her friends had not forgotten her, either. That he had not forgotten her.”

In all honesty this book would’ve been better if Chaol was not in it…On the other hand let's just get into Manon’s character because OMG! She is a goddess in all ways and she deserves everything in this world! Rowan took me some time to get used to but I soon realized the dude was just a big teddy bear on the inside — which I totally love. NOW LET'S GET TO THE TOPIC AT HAND WHICH IS: DORIAN! Dorian is my baby through thick and thin and nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING will ever stop me from being his number one fan. But…why can’t my baby boy just be HAPPY! Would it truly be so bad…?
“Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom . . . very much”

But once again if Chaol wasn’t in this book it would’ve been so much better.
“There was solid ground beneath her. Moss and grass. Not hell – earth. The earth on which her kingdom lay, green and mountainous and as unyielding as its people. Her people.”
