Momentous Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling

The arm-less wonder Aven is back and this time she's going to high school. At first she's determined to make the most of it, even though her best friend Connor won't be in school with her she'll still have Zion and his brother Lando. But after The Great Humiliation Aven draws in on herself, it doesn't help that Henry is getting older and more confused. High school is hard, but with the right support system it's a little easier.
I LOVE this book, I was so glad to get back into Aven's world. This book handled the issue of bullies and how difficult it is to move on from humiliation. They also did a great job with what family is and what it means. Also I just like the size of the book, it just fit. It was funny and witty and a great read for a late in the year 6th grader, 7/8th grader or a high school student. This one didn't have the mystery of the first, but it had all the same heart.
