"I was seconds from crumbling. I'd never known that kind of sensation, the way my heart felt heavy but airborne inside my rib cage. I'm so fucking in love with her I can barely take a full breath."
this book was so cheesy and wholesome and cute i loved it. it's been so long since i read a rom com or just any romance book in general and this is exactly what i needed. when i tell you that felicity (or "fizzy" even though i still think that's a really strange nickname) and connor had SUCH SIZZLING CHEMISTRY OH MY GOD. i'm not even kidding it had me feeling HOT and that's when you know they're good love interests ykwim. also, i love that it was in dual pov because i LOVE the mutual pining. it hit extra hard in this book, christina lauren did such a great job of it. i loved seeing them get to know each other and slowly become friends and then realise they want to be more. the way they both talk about each other is so goddamn romantic, the whole time i was just thinking i want someone to love me like that <3
speaking of connor, he is literally so fucking perfect like he's hot, tall, british, has a cool ass job, went to therapy and is extremely emotionally intelligent; LITERALLY WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANTðŸ˜. i'm so obsessed with him. he is such a cinnamon roll and when he said "no matter what it says, please know that i love you madly". LIKE UGHHH HE IS SO SWOONY i can't.
i also liked how fizzy was a proud romance book novelist and how she wasn't afraid to hand it to people who think romance is a stupid genre or not worth any literary praise. in general i liked how christina lauren brought up the issue of men shitting on things traditionally women tend to enjoy, because i think that's something that's important to discuss as, sadly, it's very common.
anyway, i really enjoyed this and would recommend if you want to read a fun, easy, sexy romcom :))
