The Trapped Ones by Stacy Green
5.0
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via netgalley and for letting me take part in this tour. This is the fifth book in the Nikki Hunt series but could be read as a standalone. I would highly recommend the first four books though if you haven’t read them.
This case is extremely perplexing. A mother and father are found dead, their son severely injured and a third unrelated female is also found dead at the scene. There are so many questions and the entire scene just does not make sense. As Nikki and her team unravelled this case it gave me more and more questions. I was desperate to see how this one played out and was shocked and saddened when the truth came out.
I liked seeing the character development for Nikki. She has grown since book one and while she still has had a hell of a past it is nice to see her happy with Rory and to have some sort of truce with his parents.
This book really showed some of the consequences of privileged men. Whether that be from wealth or being the star sportsman. This is something that we shouldn’t be allowing in our society yet we all know it has and likely is still happening.
An excellent addition to a fantastic, gripping series.
