ヴァニタスの手記 5 [Vanitas no Carte 5] by Jun Mochizuki
3.0
The story line was a slight let down here. In fact just a few days later I'm struggling to even remember it to review it. We have some tie up of volume 4 and the introduction of even more characters such as a beast that Lord Ruthven in theory fought years ago which is now stalking the country side again and a young chausser who is so gung-ho let's kill vampires that he'll kill humans who get in his way. I'm not a fan of his.
Naturally they go to fight the beast and Vanitas thinks it's a cursed vampire that he can cure. That's his goal where everyone else's is to kill. I'm not sure but they might have time traveled or think they did? It wasn't clear.
The thing I liked best was the art and we get some visual clues as to Vanitas's unhappy past. I still want to read more but my patience for long fight scenes gets worse every year.
