This book was a hugely underwhelming disappointment compared to what I remember of the Kyoshi novels. Everything felt rushed. The only things I relatively liked about this book was the plot and the epilogue, which aren't even that good.

There's also a huge lack of compelling character development in my opinion, which was very frustrating because I think Yangchen has a lot of potential. Kavik was an alright character, but sort of ends up in the place he began?

The action sequences in here are also rushed and underwhelming. The Kyoshi novels have some of my favorite action sequences in the Avatar universe, but none of the scenes here are good at all.

I'm very disappointed.

Edit: I've continued to drop the Star rating on this book as time passes. It was just such a let down.
