“She sighed mournfully. "Im so going to get eaten by a dragon…”
This was a long, funny, heart-warming, cozy fantasy wrapped up with illustrations, witty banter and a batty, lusting witch coven.
ONE WEEK AND TWO DAYS EARLIER (WHEN SASHA'S LIFE WAS RELATIVELY NORMAL AND CONTAINED 100% FEWER DRUNK UNICORNS).
The demonstration of the female best friends was beautiful and smart and accepting filled with positivity, love and support.
Then there was Sasha’s job as a substitute teacher which added normalcy to drunken unicorns called Tractor bashing his head into cars. But also didn’t… because there’s Mason, a little ball of energy and cuteness and monstrous intent.
My only (slight, slight) hang up was that it was dual pov and changed half way through. First told through Sasha’s pov, it then switches and basically plays out the storyline through another set of eyes. Whilst this offered a greater depth to the world, books and characters, sometimes the repetition felt frustrating.
However, I loved all almost-1,000 pages of this book and was gutted I couldn’t jump straight into the next one.
