Cardcaptor Sakura, Vol. 2 by CLAMP

adventurous lighthearted medium-paced

3.0

Really love this volume because I'm a fan of Syaoran's antics, and you begin to get a bit more lore behind the history and background of Clow's history in making the CLOW cards.

The reason I knocked this volume down a peg is because CLAMP went the route of writing in a sub-plot relationship between a fourth grader and her adult teacher.
He even gifts her a promise / engagement ring.
So it's made very clear that the feelings are reciprocated by him.

We also get additional background on Sakura's parents and their age gap which just continues this whole normalization of adult men in their 20's marrying, or having relationships with, girls who are 10 years their junior. I have no idea what the laws in Japan were / are at that time regarding legal ages of consent. So I'll just say that 90's shoujo manga tropes don't age well in the current landscape.
