This is actually my 2nd time reading this book. I first read it as a 16yr old teen. I remember liking it a lot because I always recommend it to people even if I only remember the horror of the two big events that are big players in the action of this story.
What I saw this time as an adult who has had children is an exploration of grief....just how far would you go for someone you love and lost? Granted in King fashion, there's creepy scaries/entity/spirits that get involved, but even with that, this story of a small family moving to a new town we get to see how unresolved grief from the past impacts our relationships with others, especially those you are close to even as so far as how you handle explaining grief and death to your own children.
This book is definitely a gut punch but I highly recommend it!
