Not Another Love Song by Julie Soto

Probably the most solid romance I’ve read in a while (and maybe ever??). The setting felt incredibly lived in, I felt very immersed in the music/orchestra world despite being someone whose experience with orchestra began and ended in elementary school. I didn’t know that this was a reylo thing until halfway through, which was probably for the best because I spent the last half kind of distracted by that. On the whole, the conflicts and plot points felt pretty natural, if a little overlong. I can’t say I loved the character work, most of them felt somewhat one-dimensional (at the very least, I think the musician angle helped provide more texture and interest to the characterization). I think the premise was just unique enough that it made a pretty average romance stand out among the rest!
