Mad Love by Nick Spalding
3.0
Another Nick Spalding, another mixture of broad humour - some of it scatological, works if you like that kind of thing - and likeable characters. Fine enough, but I feel I've been here many times before. Each chapter sets up a premise, say a tennis match, and begs you, the reader, to work out what calamity is going to befall our heroes before it actually happens, and it does! There's some genuinely funny moments and some less sure-footed pathos, and on the whole it delivers pretty much what you might expect from a Spalding epic. Again.
