The Awkward Truth by Lee Winter

5.0

I almost DNF'd this book around first 2 chapters, I just couldn't find the chemistry between Felicity and Cooper in the earlier chapters, I didn't get how Felicity's attraction to Cooper was that instant. I am so glad I didn't DNF'd it. Their chemistry was a build-up, atleast for me.

I have a love-hate relationship with this book, but the love I have for it exceeds my hate.

Again, I cannot stress out enough how good Lee Winter is. As a person who is insecure of my body, this book gave me so much joy to feel represented and feel seen. Its rare to have a book that don't just talks about body positivity, but actually walks the talk. I mean, there have been plenty now these days but it lacks execution. A book that made you feel that a person doesn't have to change physically just to get the love they deserved, because someone out there will love them just as they are.

I have cried with other books but i haven't cried and sobbed harder than how I cried with this book. Not because of a character death or some break up or whatever, but because of the lessons this book has offered. I never realized I needed this book to open up past issues of mine and realize a lot of things. This book doesn't just offer romantic side, but real life lessons. Or maybe its just too close to home for me.

The spice on this one, I mean I am still sweating, so there's that.
