I enjoyed the stories of the people in the real world a lot more than the main story in the store. I thought the main character Penny was annoying at times, with little social awareness. Some decisions made by management seemed odd at times (
e.g talking about giving someone they trust the front desk job and then giving it to the new hire...what?)

I also thought the talk of profit and investments made the dream world feel too capitalist for my liking.

It was an enjoyable read but an overarching plot would have been good.
