Woman with Birthmark by Håkan Nesser

3.0

After the last novel I read, this one was a welcome relief. I enjoyed the quick pace and the changing perspectives. While the change of point of view did change rapidly, I felt it added to the furtive, restless air of a multi-murder investigation. The anonymity of the murderer is maintained even through her own narrations. You only know slightly more than the detectives about her identity. Though not an incredibly intricate or complex plot (readers could probably foresee most circumstances easily), the style and story I found highly entertaining and rewarding. A great, wintery or rainy day read, as [a:Hakan Nesser|5216010|Hakan Nesser|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg] continuously berates the months of January and February - a sentiment I fully sympathize with here in early February in the Midwest.
