That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming

4.0

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a super enjoyable read. It was more fantasy and plot focused than I expected, but I didn’t mind that at all. I loved that the main character was called Cinnamon and I thought it fit so well with the funny, cozy vibes of this book. The romance was definitely enjoyable, but pretty insta-lovely (but it’s a fairly short book - 260 pages - so that’s kinda a given) so if that’s not your thing this may not be the book for you. I do wish it was longer because I loved the world and wished we got to spend more time with the characters. Also a Fallon pov would have been greatly appreciated. The reasons why this only got 4 stars and not higher was mainly because some of the dialogue was kind of cringey, and some parts of what happened at Ubbin’s eye felt a little cheesy. Also I don’t like how the vastly different life-spans betweeen Fallon and Cinnamon weren’t addressed. But overall I would definitely recommend this if you want a light-hearted monster romantasy that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is loads of fun (and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series).
