July 15th 1988, St Swithins Day, Emma and Dexter, two British now university graduates are in bed together after meeting at a party. What unfolds is a friendship watched over 20 years for one day - July 15th - St Swithins Day.

Wow! I haven’t reread this since my first read following watching the original movie! The TV show gave me the perfect push to reread over a decade later! Like many previous loves, not a lot of fiction ages as well - or maybe it’s something about my own growth? Maybe a combination of the two? Neither Emma or Dexter are that likeable at the start. But maybe that’s also to do with people in their early 20s - been there - been that person which is why I’m saying it now at 30. 🤣 but there’s something I love still about watching people only one day a year for 20 years I love getting to know the characters in snippets. So did I love this like I did in the past? No. But do I still really like it? Jury’s in - and I say yes!
