I burned through this and the first book. This one felt somewhat less developed, maybe, and more chaotic. I find the main love story to actually feel more like a plot-driver and am way more entranced by the secondary one (Torin & Sidra). There are some tense parts and I really didn’t know what was going to happen at almost any moment. The

fallen wind god

is such an interesting addition. The writing felt a bit YA at times (I think these are the author’s first adult novels though) which I didn’t love, but it was easy enough to overlook. Overall, I liked the first one more but this duo was cozy and mysterious and a great read.
