I love this grumpy/sunshine, small town romance! Luca actually has a link to Beth's Food Truck Warriors series as Gabe and Ren are his brother and cousin, respectively. This is a stand alone book, though I can totally see Indigo Bay having it's own series one day.
I love how the differences and similarities between these two characters are what attracts and brings them closer together. Luca has quite the development in his character as he starts weighed down with the responsibility of being head of the Moretti family businesses but the light that Oliver brings allows him to see what his life could be. Oliver is a very big part of the community of Indigo Bay. His bakery and cafe are extremely popular and his family's history is steeped into the upcoming Sweethearts festival.
Luca may only be in town for a few weeks to help his family's deli but from their first intense meeting, there's no denying their connection and they can't stay away from each other, making the most of the time they have together. Though the story only takes place over several weeks, I was fully on board with how quickly their feelings grew. I really enjoyed the small town feel and community of people, even the Luca's family who aren't too fond of him for most of the book. The Moretti also go through a bit of a change and it's all for the better. I love that we got a little but of interaction with Gabe (On A Roll) and Ren (Ride or Die), a good chance to catch up with them and bring the whole family back together.
A really enjoyable fairly low angst romance with an opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine relationship.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
