Yikes! This was a fucking mess! Where do I even begin?

First of all what was the point of the trifecta members?? They should be wise, but often times acted dumb and petty, like many other characters in the series.

Rin remains an unpleasant character, and I won't dwell on her. She's mostly reactive, not driving the story forward, which could have been improved with multiple perspectives.

The pacing of the book is all over the place, with three underwhelming climactic moments. The first one, involving Riga, is rushed and leaves us with flat characters.

The second, where Rin defeats The Republic, feels sudden with the introduction of new characters too late in the story.

The third, the exploration of the aftermath of war is done well but feels rushed, contributing to pacing issues. There's also a revenge scene against Petra that seems unnecessary and lacks emotional depth.

Overall the book could've benefited from the incorporation of multiple perspectives and the early introduction of the new characters. However, this installment, unfortunately falied to live up to the heights set by it's predecessors.
