Theodora Andersen and August Ryder - the hate you/love you story I didn't know I needed. I don't know if I've ever read a romance quite like this one. Teddy is everything you want in a friend - fiercely loyal, problem-solving, willing to give you the shirt of her back. It only makes sense she ends with someone who she can verbally spar with aka Gus. And that's not shade, their banter was entertaining throughout the entire book.

Gus, in true oldest sibling fashion, takes care of everyone, managing everything - even when he isn't asked. AND he's a hot single dad?? With a great co-parenting relationship with the mother of his child?? SIGN ME UP!

Love story aside, I think my favorite parts of this book had to do with the other important relationships for Teddy and Gus - Emmy and Riley. If you read the first two books, it's not secret that Riley is the center of the Ryder family. They all would drop everything for that little girl if it came down to it, and Teddy doesn't shy away from that. Riley is just as important to her as the rest of them. And Teddy and Emmy's friendship plays a small part in this book - which is important. I think anyone who has ever been single and watched their best friend fall in love romantically can relate to feeling a little left behind. Not necessarily intentional, or inherently bad, but a crummy feeling all the same. Emmy summed it up nicely, Brooks may be the love her life, but Teddy is her soulmate.
