This book really had all the elements of things I love. It had all the supernatural things and who doesn't love a witchy read! I immediately fell in love with Ellea, she is one of those characters who knows what people think of her, and so she plays into it sometimes. She is snarky and fun! She also has some super cool magic. Of course, then she ends up having to run away to this small town for a bit and we get the most intense slow burn. I have to admit that at times I wanted the book to get to whatever was happening, it just felt like at times nothing happened. I know it's the first in the series but I honestly think at times we could have moved the plot along some. I mean the last like 5 chapters of the book got so intense compared to other moments. I will say this book lefting me wanting to know more and I can't wait to dive into book 2 and learn more about Ellea and Ros. I especially want to know more about their magic.
