I skimmed a few of the reviews and see some criticisms of how this case was handled - this book was written in 1980 so in all likelihood the case happened sometime in the 70s. It was quite a different time. I absolutely think that we would do things much differently now, including removing the child from the home very early, but this was still an interesting story.
