This was a two day book for me and I just flew through it! The story moved quickly, almost too quickly. I would have enjoyed a few more scenes with Jude and Cardan or even just more between Jude and Bomb or Roach or even Ghost! Maybe more from heather’s time in farieland!
I enjoyed that Jude was incredibly intelligent and good at coming up with things on the fly! I never felt as though she was embarrassing, weak, or dumb! I liked that inside her brain we saw the anxiety, worrying, and scheming but was calm and collected on the outside. I enjoy seeing all the little pieces of knowledge we have picked up from book one carry into and through book 2. It’s a really nice attention to detail that I enjoyed! I enjoyed Cardan and him growing into himself by the end of the book! I liked the few romantic scenes we’ve seen from him so far!
It was less romantic than most romantasy, but I enjoyed that it wasn’t the main plot. I also enjoy that Jude wasn’t distraught and losing herself to Cardan. Which is common in books! She did what she needed to do and didn’t make that all consuming. I will read book 3 for sure to see how the series ends.
