My Berlin Kitchen: A Love Story by Luisa Weiss
4.0
I really enjoyed reading this book; it’s somewhere between 3.5 and 3.75, I think. I loved the writing around home and identity and family, mostly because these are topics that are huge in my life.
The recipes and history behind the recipes were charming.
And the focus on Berlin was lovely, mostly because it’s one of my favorite cities.
There were parts, though, where I think she overdid the unhappiness. And I’m not sure why I feel that way.
Also, I think some of her characterization of Germans was too broad. They didn’t jibe with the Germans I know in SW Germany.
But overall, definitely recommend.
