Bound by Honey by Jamie Dalton

3.0

This was my first cozy fantasy read and I really enjoyed it. The first page starts off having me laughing at what is happening in this magical library, and is a nice break in my usual more spicy and action packed reads.

We join Sage and the Charming Four on her quest to find a cure for a centuries old curse. Ofcourse, working in a magical library with a Gargoyle as coworker is amazing, but discovering old tales and their hidden secrets makes it even more so.

“Even books of fiction can have hints of truth.”

The world building is awesome, from the magical library to the gardens, it all sounds so nice! I also really appreciate the research that has been put into the making and finding of the cure.I love the playfulness and innocent enemies to lovers vibes. Mind you, there is a low spiciness, a kiss with fade to black, so don't expect more than the occasional MMC oops I lost my shirt scenes. It's more of a cheesy romance in that.

The only thing I did find is that sometimes the conversations feel a bit forced, not really flowing or not really like a natural conversation would flow. I would also have liked a bit more on Freddy, and maybe a less rushed ending to the book.

But overall, Bound by Honey, a standalone novella in the Starry Kingdoms of the Fae Collection, is a heartwarming and charming story, it has White Chocolate Lavender Lattes, a magical library, a gargoyle who is kind of amazing, beautiful Fae men, magic adventures and dragons. It’s a quick inbetween read that is easy on your feelings and best enjoyed with a cup of tea (or white chocolate lavender latte) and a cozy soft blanket.

Also, there is a nice little surprise at the ending of the book. Really thoughtful and unique in its own.

Tropes: Enemies to lovers, found family, magic library, cozy adjacent, almost why choose, royalty

Thanks to the author Jamie Dalton for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. ***I received a free ARC from the author, but my opinions are my own.***
