this book was such an incredibly tense, haunting, and sensual tale of obsession and devotion. i was immediately drawn into the story and intrigued by the characters, and even though i kept picking this book up late at night, i didn't want to go to sleep because then i would have to put it down. i'm glad i went into it blindly because i didn't expect the plot twist at all. this was a great debut and i'll definitely be picking up whatever yael van der wouden writes next!
