2.75, maybe? I don't know how this ended up on my TBR because I know I don't like books like this. Still, I was interested in the magic, and I wanted to see how the MC would teach the girls. I could tell that the characters were supposed to be loveable, but I never really felt like I connected with any of them. Then there was this weird "plot twist" at the end that just felt out of place and forced. The resolution of that sudden conflict seemed a little kooky, but I guess this is a "quirky" kinda book. I guess I'd recommend it if your usual style is light-hearted, found family books, but even then I'm sure you could find a better one.
