Divines Rivalités by Rebecca Ross
4.0
Yet another book that I go into with high hopes. This one was a really fun and fast book to read. I was able to picture the characters and loved how they were developed and introduced. One part that made me give it four stars was the magic element. It wasn’t really clear what the rules for magic and the setting of the story. I would forget that there was magic and gods, and they were in a totally different time and place, but they had some modern technology, so it was confusing. Overall I enjoyed the writing.
The beginning of the book I think was better than the end. The progression of the love story felt rushed and. I wish they had more of a romance aspect outside of the letters (I know that’s the point of the book, but my love language isn’t words of affirmation).
There is a second book in the series, but the first one left me not really craving to read it. We shall see…
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a YA romance. It was a great example of an enemies to lovers story with beautiful writing.
