a classic, of course. i know this book is controversial, and a lot of people have different opinions on the main character, holden caulfield. i for one, really liked this book. i read it for my 8th grade english class and wrote an essay on it, and i studied the crap out of it, enjoying every second of it to be honest. i think it's a book that every teen should read. it deals with topics like the struggles of growing up, wanting to hold on to your childhood, mental health, and teen isolation. there is a LOT of symbolism in this book, the main one being the title, which i actually thought was really interesting. i love this book!!
