Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover is the retelling of Hopeless from the perspective of Dean Holder (the MMC). I didn’t particularly enjoy this book. It was nice seeing a few new things about the story from Holder’s perspective, but most of it was just a retelling. I’m not one to pick up a book and read it just because it’s from another character’s perspective, so I found this book to be quite underwhelming. I finished it, though! The really good things about this book were the new scenes with Les, and the new scenes with just Holder when he isn’t with Sky. Basically, anything that wasn’t in Hopeless is what I enjoyed. However, I did really enjoy all of the romance as per usual because CoHo is amazing at writing love scenes packed full of emotion. The writing and the plot and everything else is still solid, it’s just that knowing what comes next makes me lose a lot of interest in the story. Overall, if you’re a die hard Colleen Hoover fan, definitely read this book. If you like books told from the perspective of a different character (but basically the same plot), you’ll enjoy this as well. It just fell flat for me. Very mediocre. I give it 2.5 healing hearts:❤️🩹❤️🩹.5
