McLaren has some wonderful points which I enjoyed. It was not the simplest book to read, but I did enjoy it for the genre it is. He is clearly a thought-provoking and clearly experienced man whom I admire. His resources for podcasts, books and other thought-leaders in progressive Christianity are wonderful. Having heard him speak, I think he is a much better speaker than a writer, though I found his book stimulating.
