Foolish Puckboy by Eden Finley, Saxon James

5.0

I've been reading and reviewing several dark and angsty books lately, so this story was kind of a refreshing breeze.

If you're looking for something deeper and with a ton of drama, well, this isn't it. In fact, this is a typical [a:Eden Finley|15036279|Eden Finley|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1520859183p2/15036279.jpg] and [a:Saxon James|19404191|Saxon James|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1642498003p2/19404191.jpg] book, and that means it's full of banter, funny moments, romance, silliness, and yes, there are some brief moments with a little bit of drama, though these don't drag on for long but are resolved quickly and in the most unthinkable way for us readers who want to suffer for our beloved MCs: Talking and communicating! Oh the horror!

The story is about Aleks, who breathes and lives hockey and is the main cause of him being recently divorced, and he is now out as pansexual and ready to f**ck around, or is he? And Gabe, a hot firefighter who is tired of f**cking around and is looking for someone to accompany him to fulfill his dream to foster kids, but who is resigned to doing it alone.

They meet in one of the funniest and craziest moments that only members of the Collective can find themselves in (and what a pleasure to meet these guys again and see that they remain faithful to their shenanigans)!! The spark is immediate between the two of them, and soon Gabe finds himself willing to "teach" Aleks everything he's been missing out. Of course, supposedly without commitments or attachments. But it is immediately clear that they are only fooling themselves, and soon they find themselves in a relationship that they do not want to label but that little by little is becoming more.

The only thing I would have liked is to know more about Gabe, not much is said about his past except that he was also a foster kid and that he did not have a good time. But in general, it is not something that affects the plot itself, but rather a personal desire.

So, as always with a book by them, I highly recommend it because it's funny, it's sweet, and at this point and after sharing with the Collective and former members of it so much and for so long, they are family, and this kind of family always comes first!

I was giving an advanced reading copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
