The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
5.0
Sloan Monroe has hit a major rut in her life. Her fiance passed away in a motorcycle accident two years ago, and ever since she's lost all motivation, but that all changes after an energetic dog jumps through her sunroof. Sloan can't stomach the thought of this adorable dog locked away in a shelter, so she takes him home. Spending time with Tucker opens up Sloan and makes her feel more alive than she has in years. Finally, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner, Jason--a hot, touring musician-- reaches out and he wants his dog back, but Sloan's not giving up without a fight. Soon flirty texts turn into long phone calls, and when the pair finally meet, they can't deny the attraction between them, but is Jason's rising musical career worth the inevitable heartbreak Sloan will face?
I absolutely adored this. I was completely hooked from the very first page. I really enjoyed Jimenez's writing style, it was funny, witty and felt real. Sloan and Jason were so good together and their relationship felt very natural. I loved watching them getting to know one another and the little flirty banter. They complimented one another so well and it was very sweet. I'm such a sucker for dogs, so I was eating up how both Sloan and Jason treated Tucker like he was their child. The story itself was overall solid for me, were there little bits I found a tad over the top? Yes, but it wasn't enough for me write it off. I also loved all the chapters having a song at the beginning that sort of corresponds to what's going on. So, if you're a fan of music or just adorable romances with cute dogs, check this one out.
