Summer Memories by Laura John

My first Laura John novel and it certainly won’t be my last. And she’s Canadian to boot, I’m always excited to ‘discover’ and Canadian author.
Young love often ends in tragedy and heartbreak. It may not have been their fault, but it doesn’t make the pain any less. So you can totally feel for Chuck as he tries to keep his heart in check and his distance from Simon who has returned too many years later.
Not wanting to give too much away…this story is beautifully executed as it draws us into the past hurts and the emotional war of the present. And with the presence of some vibrant BFFs and colleagues who refuse to let them hide from what could be.
In the end, we get a really lovely second chance romance with a terrific HEA.
4.5 Stars
