Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah
5.0
Short Review: A very well written, engaging, self-depreciating story of Trevor Noah's early years. South Africa and the impact of Apartheid is a character of the book. One that many readers will be unfamiliar with. But the stories of family, good and bad, school, fitting in, growing up are relatable regardless of your own growing up years.
I am not a celebrity memoir guy. If I had not picked this up free during a promotion, I most likely would not have picked it up at all. But it is well worth reading.
