Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil by Tom Mueller
informative
slow-paced
2.75
If we spent a lot more time on the history of olive oil I would have stuck with this book for the last 40 pages, but while this book is informative, and has made me a more conscious consumer when it comes to olive oil. And while the author has moments of laying down some really beautiful prose, the repeated (repetitive) deep dives into the science of the industry got old after the third rehashing. I would have loved to hear more about the journey of olive oil across the world and how it worked its way into cultures.
