Hunt, Gather, Parent: What Ancient Cultures Can Teach Us About the Lost Art of Raising Happy, Helpful Little Humans by Michaeleen Doucleff

informative medium-paced

5.0

I've worked professionally with children for 12 years and am the oldest of 6, so childcare has been ever present in my life. Most parenting books I have read have been less than satisfactory. They weren't bad, but weren't ones I would recommend, either. Hunt, Gather, Parent had some of my favorite tools for interacting with younger children (the ones that have kept me employed for years) and included new ideas that have had positive results in a few days, if not immediately. This is a book that I will be suggesting to anyone in need of some help managing the chaos that is small children or who want to be better parents/gaurdians in general.
