Angel by Linden Bell

5.0

The list of sweet, cinnamon roll himbos that I would die for continues to grow. I absolutely adored Angel. I adored Rhys. And I adored this book. I feel like it had the perfect amount of angst and the level of drama between Angel and Rhys never grew to an uncomfortable level. They were always just so sweet with each other. Even when they were both struggling with what their feelings meant, they both embraced each other anyway, letting themselves have the happiness and letting the love build up, consequences be damned. I loved how Angel was so accepting of himself, too. I find that in a lot of books that involve a character discovering they're attracted to a same-sex partner, their internal thoughts are often them being ashamed or trying to push the feelings away. I thought it was so refreshing that Angel understood his feelings so quickly, and decided that this new man he was becoming was the one he was supposed to be. That was beautiful. And the trust that Rhys decided to risk was also beautiful. He had every reason to pull away and protect his heart, but he knew he was going to let himself fall in head first, and I loved that he just let it happen and hoped for the best. The sex scenes in this book...were wow. Every single one of them was so hot, so passionate, and seeing Angel discover something new about himself basically every time was a real treat. Linden Bell hits this book out of the park, like the rest of the books in the series so far. I am so filled with the warm fuzzies after reading this.
