I love this book!

I have been going through a terrible reading slump since August and it has been a struggle. But this book saved me!

It was one of those mysteries that feels like it is clouded in this haze of confusion until the very end, when the fog is finally lifted and you can see clearly for the first time.

While you’re reading, you’re picking up pieces and discarding them, then going back to retrieve them because, wait a second, I think that’s important, after all. No matter how you try, the pieces won’t fit together quite right because some don’t belong. Some are there to trick us. Some are fake or false. It’s glorious!

The narrator can’t be trusted, which is a personal favorite concept of mine, and not everything is as it seems. I wish I could say I predicted the ending, but that would be a bit of a stretch. I considered the idea, but decided it was unlikely because I didn’t have all the facts.

It feels like a mess when you’re in it. It feels wild and chaotic and dazed. But then, you finish it. In retrospect, you see the structure, the planning, and the mastery of this novel.

You. Must. Read. It.
