Tara Road by Maeve Binchy

I think I enjoyed this book. I kept reading it because I wanted to know what happened to all these people I got to know.
Some of them were so infuriating that I wanted to slap them and then I realized that I know people in real life exactly like that! So, this story was a little truer to life than I gave it credit for at first.
I won't bore anyone with a synopsis because that can be read anywhere.
I enjoyed the characters of Ria and Marilyn who swap houses for the summer as they run away from their problems, only to get involved in the lives and problems of each other.

Sometimes the story got to be a little tedious and repetitive and several pages could have been shaved off without it affecting the storyline one bit. That became a little tiresome.
This is my first Maeve Binchy book, as I don't read what I call "gentle fiction" very often. I'm not sure if I'll pick up another but I might if someone can recommend a good one.
