The Cipher by Isabella Maldonado
5.0
Nina is such a well written lead for this book. I mean it’s kind of unusual for people with her background to go from where she was in life to being an officer and then federal agent. Which is why I think the author did good with the portrayal of how she handles it. She’s the perfect blend of strong-willed, determined yet a vulnerable survivor and I think we see that very clearly towards the ending when she didn’t just give up on herself but fought for her life.
I really liked the whole including social media into the his murders thing the Cipher did. I mean he is one sadist and twisted person but It definitely made this a very distinct and enjoyable read. Plus I liked that Nina was tied to him and how realistic it was when it came to showing how the FBI can’t always be spot on when it comes to these things.
I’ll probably be reading this again sometime in the future so I’m hoping the audiobook does it justice.
