I hate to not finish a review book, but I made it through 70% before giving up. It's not horribly written, it just wasn't engaging. The characters weren't interesting and I just wasn't connecting with them and wasn't seeing any real connections between the characters themselves. I liked the idea of the Demons, a creature connected with the person, yet the MC seemed to have absolutely no emotional attachment to his demon at all.

Add to the fact that the story seemed to be going no where. There was no rising action, and I wasn't enjoying all of the detail that was placed on the magic and their lessons.

I also couldn't help but continuously compare it to Pokemon, I was half expecting him to yell "Ignatius! I Choose you!!" and throwing him into battle.

It's not a bad book, I've certainly finished worse, it's just not for me. I'd rather be reading something I enjoy
