There's a quote on the front of the hardcover that reads, "Breaks your heart and warms it all at once." This is particularly apt, I think, because I'm sitting here still sobbing after just finishing this book, and yet I feel so warm, so full of love and sunshine for this tiny little book. I can't remember the last time I read something so pure, so uncomplicated in its telling of grief and love and beauty. This book is the field of sunflowers these characters visit: colorful and wistful and just a little heartbreaking.
