I’m struggling with the rating on this one. I loved the characters and the found family in this story, but the plot was hot garbage. Like, okay, I can try and get behind Piper only being with her cheating ex before Liam and therefore, being inexperienced in bed. But the pace in which their relationship progressed was ungodly slow. And not in that hot and steamy slow burn way. In a way that made me want to bang my head into the wall. I’m sorry, but consenting adults don’t spend months at third base. And then about halfway through the book, they got drunk and married in Vegas? And then they didn’t get it annulled because she needed better health care? Idk, I’m just gonna need a better reason than that. Especially after Liam flipped his shit when he realized what happened. There were also some random plot lines that never really amounted to anything. Like Steven? The excessive missed calls and texts made you think that there would be some drama. But alas, nothing.
Anyways…Goalie Daddy is a great nickname, and I will henceforth be using that. I think the series still has solid potential. But this was a miss for me. 🫠
