Fruit of the Drunken Tree by Ingrid Rojas Contreras

5.0

I love a well-written historical fiction novel, especially if it is about a place and period I am only somewhat familiar with. Fruit of the Drunken Tree takes place in Pablo Escobar’s Columbia and transports you to that era. This book feels like traveling back to that place and time.

Something that makes this book so incredible is that the author based it on experiences from her own life, growing up in Columbia. Her story resonates throughout the book and makes it that much more powerful of a read. I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
