Can't form a cohesive thought here so just a bit of rambling for my review of this one...
Not my favorite, not my least favorite. Not much plot, just the musings of a grieving widow/single mother. Felt like the dystopian-surveillance-state setting could've been removed, and you would have had the same exact book. Sometimes the kid's dialogue felt fake, like when people try to make a comment on society by saying it was an observation their toddler came up with out of the blue? I wish I felt more strongly about the "Shadesters" but it just never felt as dire as it sounds like it should be. Not much in the way of surprise here, much of what happened was expected.
