I don't read a ton of sad books, but this one was really, REALLY good. B Cherry knows how to write an emotional story that allows the reader to feel naturally, rather than manipulating them into that place. Some parts were predictable, but I didn't feel that this detracted from the story, and I cannot wait to dive into the rest of this author's backlist. Definitely recommended if you enjoy KU romance novels and are looking for more BIPOC authors to support!
